R/C Outfitters & Guide Service was started in 1997 by James Grigar - guiding on Richland Chambers Reservoir. He has been a tournament angler for years and won several tournaments on Richland Chambers, Cedar Creek and Palestine. James writes for Outdoor Times Magazine and is a member of Team Texas Fish and Game.

In the last few years he has expanded his services to include guided deer, duck and hog hunts along with fishing on Cedar Creek and Fairfield. "We specialize in black bass, but also guide for crappie, sand bass, and hybrids". In 1999 R/C Outfitters & Guide Service acquired Mike's Guide Service from Mike Perez on Richland Chambers. Mike was a long time friend of James and they had been helping each other with guide trips for years. They now have three guides and fish year round. Having Fairfield close to them is a blessing, a power plant lake with an 18" minimum on black bass can make for a lot of good fishing. It also has a good quantities of redfish and hybrids.

Specializing in Black Bass and Hybrids
also offering guided hunts for duck, deer and hogs

Richland Chambers has produced more bass for my customers over 9 pounds and several for myself over 10 pounds. This is one of the best fisheries in the state for black bass, sand bass, hybrids and crappie. We know where to find the fish year round and cater to all types of anglers from the beginner to the pro. We can accommodate up to six people on a crappie or sand bass trip and welcome corporate groups. We provide lake tours and can provide accommodations with your visit.

Richland Chambers is the third largest lake in the state of Texas. It host 5 large Marinas and is close to both Dallas and Houston. There are plenty of places to duck hunt on the lake. The season starts out with a boom during early teal season and stays good throughout the season for Mallards, Pintales, Gadwals and Wood Ducks. We guide our hunts out of an Xpress duck boat. It is the most stable boats made for duck hunting. Willie, Brook and Shade are our trusty retrievers and always bring the ducks back to us.

Cedar Creek offers excellent fishing for the angler who loves to pitch and flip. There are more docks than you can shake a fishing pole at and usually a nice fish next to them. There is an abundance of fish in the 5 to 6 pound class and my personal best on this lake is 10 1/2 pounds. The crappie, sand bass and hybrids are also plentiful with limits caught year round.
